CURRENT SONG:
"Music of the Night" sung by Gerard Butler from "PotO" soundtrack
CURRENT OUTFIT:
Penguin and Moose printed Jammies!
CURRENT MOOD:
VERY tired...

Konbanwa, minnansan! Kamisama, long time, no post, ne? I apologize for no updates in February. A number of unexpected events happened, and I virtually ignored all my journals! =-.-=;; But I think everything is quieting down now. My grandmother's back surgery occurred a couple days ago and went really, really well. She's doing a lot better today and her leg doesn't hurt any more! YAY! I'm just glad to see her smiling without any pain!

Recently I became quite ill too and was diagnosed with Endometriosis. This is a feminine related disease and I'm very happy to say that it will not cause anything very terrible to happen to me! But on the down side, it is highly painful and I get quite sick from it from day to day. My specialist is going to arrange for me to have my first surgery for it some time soon and that will take away a lot of the pain. On a slightly humorous note, to control the endometriosis, they've put me into man made menopause! ::chuckles softly:: Now Mum and I have wayyyyyy too much in common in reference to those things. But don't worry about me, minnasan, I'm doing much better and I'm just happy that it's nothing too bad! There are lots of terrible things that happen to people and what I have is very minor! ::smiles::

Work has been trudging along... For a while I was REALLY regretting taking my promotion, it was way harder than I thought it would be and I didn't have the best of training. But it's not so bad now... I finish in a reasonable amount of time, and I still get to check down stairs. The bummer is I get called in a lot on my days off and I have to head off to work by 4:15 in the morning to get there in time! OI!! So I get up at 3:45 just so I can head off in time. In least the weather has been nice enough that there hasn't been a lot of frost on the windows or cold!

LNchan, sankyuu so much again for the box set! You've been so kind to me and I can't wait to get it! ::BIG HUGS:

I thought I'd also have a bit of a random thing and I'm going to post some recommendations! Some of them will have links and some of them are just general things that I like and thought maybe everyone else would like to check out! I've broken them into categories, so if you're in the mood to check them out, feel free to do so!

CINEMA TO SEE:

The Phantom of the Opera: Of course this would be one of my major recommendations, I'm completely addicted to the musical and the cinema version was absolutely brilliant! Sure some things got switched around, but it was as opulent and gorgeous as ever! Gerard Butler was brilliant as the Phantom and my heart ached so badly for him! This film gets Nick and I's golden "Sam Raimi's Army of Darkness" Good rating!

Muriel's Wedding: You can rent this little charming Australian film on DVD or VHS. It was released in the early '90's and I just had the opportunity to watch it on the Indie Film channel last night! If you enjoy really off-beat pieces, this is brilliant and I could really relate to the character of "Muriel." A great ABBA soundtrack to boot. This film received Nick and I's "Very Good" rating.

MANGA TO READ:

Aquarian Age Juvenile Orion: The series is excellent and well written, the boyz are as bishie as they come and my favorite character is a Priest! Yay for story writing. The art work is done by Sakurako Gokurakuin and it's a smart and thought provoking tale as well as full of action! There is only five volumes to the series, so it's easy to collect. If you buy the box set like I did, you also get two keychains, one of Tomonori and one of Tsukasa! (I turned mine into pins by attaching them to safety pins.)

Gensomaden Saiyuki/Saiyuki RELOAD: A general must for Kazuya Minekura fans. In the words of my dear LNchan, if" you thought the anime was angsty, you haven't read the manga yet!" (Quote courtesty of LN Tora) Also, if you like some quick humor, the first volume of RELOAD is awesome for that and it's great to see Minekurasama's art work progress into the stage it is at now!

Stigma: Another piece by Minekurasama, and her only completely in color book. This manga is available only in Japanese, but you can find translation sites on the web. Beautiful storyline, moving characters, I cry every time I read it!

ANIME TO WATCH:

"Classic" DiGi Charat: The original "DiGi Charat" series is still my favorite! Guaranteed to make you laugh and I just adore Rabi-en-Rose! I think she's so kawaii! Lots of slightly adult humor and some wicked mocking of the Otaku culture, but all in good fun!

Gensomaden Saiyuki/Saiyuki RELOAD: It's only natural I recommend the anime after I've recommended the manga. Once again, if you're a Minekurasama fan, it's a must to have in the collection and the anime artwork is amazingly close to her manga work!

NOVELS/BOOKS TO READ:

"Something Wicked this Way Comes" by Ray Bradbury: A truly classic favorite of mine, this is a really awesome story that tells almost like a warning fable. The characters are in depth and you'll never look at a traveling carnival quite the same again! It's about a PG rating in the book, so I'd recommend this one to almost anyone!

FUN LINKS TO VISIT:

My Cat Hates You.com: My mum owns a book from the author of this website. If you want to see the less flattering (and more hilarious) sides to your feline friends, check this site out!

Usagichan Search and Rescue: One of the finest anime convention sites out there! Tons of beautiful, sharp photos and conventions are seperated by name and year! Very easy to navigate and lots of cosplay links as well as cosplay shops links!

Anime Gamers USA: For those of you who are fans of the Broccoli Inc. merchandise, this is the one stop for you! Lots of items from "DiGi Charat," "Aquarian Age Juvenile Orion," and "Pita Ten" as well as items from "Naruto," "Chobits," and more!

MARA-chan the WebComic: A smart, witty and hilarious look at the Otaku culture! This little web comic is great and it's very funny to read! Check it out from the beginning!

Phew, that was quite a bit of recommending, wasn't it? Hope everyone has a chance to check a bit of this stuff out! In the future I'll make more recommendations and post links to fun stuff, ne?

Picture Perfect has been updated again with a brand new look! It features "Fam" from the older anime "Ruin Explorers!" I fell in love with her when I first saw her! She was so kawaii, a hybrid cat girl, a sorceress and she had such an adorable voice! ::chuckles:: So I decided to go old school for the layout! I haven't posted it there yet, but I've finished my slightly "Ghetto" cosplay for the first official meeting of the "Rapid City Cosplay Group," which will be March 10th at 8 p.m. at Borders in Rapid, should anyone decide to come! I'm going as a "Rave" style Moogle! I made this great hat and I even sewed a heart shaped back pack with stuffed Moogle wings on it. (This stems from the fact that I HATE wearing wings.) I just need to get my red and white bracelets and the whole outfit with be done! I can't wait for the meeting!

Quizzy time for today comes compliments of my friend Mandechan's LJ and features computer systems!

What Computer System Am I?

You are Apple OS X. You are beautiful, stable, and a catgirl. It’s no wonder people love you. It's sometimes a little annoying that so many people stick with the obviously inferior Windows, but since you know you’re better, you don't let it bother you much.

Fear my Cat Girl ways! ::chuckles:: Actually, I'm sure Oniisan would have something to say about me being Apple/MAC related, ne?

Well, that's all for tonight, minnasan! Hope I made up for lack of updates with this post! ::chuckles:: A big sankyuu to Jeramiesan for signing my Guestbook and leaving Blog comments! Remember if you want to leave me a comment, minnasan, sign your name after it if you don't have a Blog! Sign my Guestbook onegai, and ja ne for now! =~.^=V (Proud Supporter of the 58 Pairing and Ginji Lover!)
